GDD 200 Final
http://www.kongregate.com/games/Connor_Dean/the-collector
My final is a simple roll-a-ball game that forces on the aspect of exploring levels in order to collect a certain number of objects. I had some issues with the terrain object where I would change it on one level and it then would affect the other level, so I had to make the level work with both of the two final levels. Besides that I made sure to mess with the speed of the ball on different levels to make the ball a little hard to control if you tried to rush, but still a good speed to complete the level.

2d RPG week 4
Here is my added monster area. The process to create a full forest was much harder than first anticipated and I ended up making new tiles for every tree position. Then I had some trouble making the box colliders work with the path as well as some issues with the monsters being on screen but being placed too high to be able to hit. finally I had some trouble with the chests but I quickly realized I just needed to change the id of the chest in order to access it.
For the rest of my game, I plan to follow the path of two different ninjas, a shinobi, who wields ranged weapons, and a soul-bound warrior, wielding the demon sword Masamura. The story will send them on a quest to free their master from a dungeon in a nearby dungeon. If the player speaks to the towns people, they will discover that the dungeon is in the house right next to the players house, but due to a magical lock no one can get in. They can also discover at the bar that there are rumors of a magical key deep in the nearby forest. This will send the player out on a quest to find key, and then return to save their master. I want to add three bosses, one for the forest, one for the field, and one in the masters room. The Forest boss will be a large water goblin, with increased speed and health. In the field I want to add a mother slime that splits into small slimes. The final boss will be a corrupted master, which will be a reskined golem. He will be faster and have even more health than previous bosses. Once you defeat your master, a end game screen will come up and talk about how the monsters have fallen back and are no longer attacking the village since their leader was defeated.

2d RPG week 3
Here is the position of my new building. Right next to the square.
Here is the scene that I made, with multiple beds and some pots. I put 4 slimes into the room as well as a stone golem since it would provide problems and some challenge if the player hit it.
Here is the NPC with different text. It makes more sense if you talk to him after you kill all the monsters. I like to think this is house was the guard house except the guards got turned into evil slimes and you must save the last one.
2dRPG week 2
This shows my building change, as well as the character. I also choose to switch the trees to cherry blossoms because I want to set the game in a japanese ninja sense.
This shows the weapons, Masumune (the sword), a shrunken (the bow) and a Kuni (the magic).
It also shows a blob enemy, which I recolored, added a slice through the side of it as well as 2 arrows in it.
This shows the bat enemy, originally intended to be a demon but just turned into a sort of robot. It also shows the health, which is scrolls that gray out when hit, and the money, which I turned into gold coins.

Pitch Proposal for 2D action RPG
The original game was very lacking in sense of drive to finish the game and the lack of variety of the monsters makes game play become very static after you understand how each enemy works. I would love to get a zombie or skeleton as an enemy that would launch the player onto a quest to reverse the plague or infection or spell that is bringing the dead to life. This could lead them to a forest or field that would have different colored slimes and maybe some bandits who still gold when they hit you or a random item off of you. The reason you would have multiple colored slimes is that they could either cause different on hit effects or it would drop gels that you can give to someone for different potions. Then the player would go into a cave where they would encounter bats and golems, the enemies that can only hit when you aggro the enemy. In the cave there would be multiple paths and it would be somewhat of a maze, but most of the paths lead to chests but there is only one path that leads to the magic stone that is causing the dead to come to life. After the player grabs it I would love to have either some sort of boss fight where it is like a necromancer who can summon skeletons or zombies and creates some sort of wall preventing the player to leave. If I couldn't do that I would like to have some sort of event when the cave starts to collapse or the player just has to return the stone to the village elder for the quest to end.
Besides the items that are in the demo, I would like to add a few different items and weapons. Right now there seems to be a normal sword, a bow, a magic staff and a healing potion. I would like to add a Larger sword, or maybe just a long sword that would be an upgrade that can be bought from a blacksmith. Possibly a master sword type of weapon that is both close range with a beam that goes out for a short distance. I like the bow but maybe if you can get enough money, you can pay someone in the forest to teach you a spread shot that fires a few shots in multiple directions. For the Magic Staff, you shouldn't be able to buy it, you should have to earn it by killing 40 amount of enemies and then you can go talk to the village elder or the local wizard to redeem the staff. Then if you kill 70 you could return to him to receive a different staff that could shoot a pillar of fire and just deals more damage. This would be an item that players would have to work towards in order to get and would find out about it through notes left by the elder or wizard throughout the world for the player to find. I would also like to add a few different potions ranging from health potions to strength to invisibility.
